The National Museum of Ohrid was first established in 1516 in Saint Clement's Church of Bogorodica Perivlepta, as a museum to the Archbishopric of Ohrid, making it one of the oldest museums in the world.

The house is a protected cultural monument consisting of 3 floors. In the lower part of the house are placed the epigraphical monuments from Ohrid, on the second and the third floor are placed the archeological objects from the ancient times and the medieval period.

In this house once lived the rich family Robevi which was popular in Ohrid. They lived here for 35 years and left the house in 1861 after it was burnt to the ground. Later, in 1863 the house was rebuilt.

The House of Robev Family (actually dual-brotherly house building) according to its size and architectural expression, presents a kind of status symbol for the family, whose trade relations led from Istanbul to Vienna, Trieste and Leipzig.

In 1996, the House of Robev Family was put again under protection of the Law on Protection of Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Macedonia as a valuable cultural and historical built heritage.

National Museum Robevci House attracts the attention of numerous travelers from Macedonia and all over the world.
